Roman Numeral Converter
Convert a number (1–3999) to Roman numerals, or a Roman numeral back to a number.
MCMXCIV
How to use this tool
Switch to Number → Roman and type any whole number from 1 to 3999 into the Number field to see its Roman numeral equivalent appear instantly. Switch to Roman → Number and type a numeral like MCMXCIV to decode it back into a regular number. Behind the scenes the converter rebuilds the Roman form from your decoded number and checks it matches exactly, so malformed numerals like IIII or VX are rejected rather than silently misread. Use the copy icon next to the result to copy either value.
