Privacy Policy

1. Overview
DevBiz Tools Hub ("we", "us") is run by Chirag and provides free online tools that run in your browser. This policy explains what data is involved when you use the site, who else processes it, and the choices you have.
2. What you enter into the tools
The calculators, converters and generators process your input with code running on your own device. The text, numbers and files you enter are not uploaded to us and we have no access to them. Three tools need the network to work:
- The Currency Converter requests the day's exchange rate from the Frankfurter API (api.frankfurter.dev). That request contains only the two currency codes you chose; the amount is multiplied in your browser and never sent.
- The OCR tools (image to text, PDF to text) download their recognition engine and English language data (about 7 MB) from the jsDelivr content-delivery network (cdn.jsdelivr.net) the first time you use them. Your images and PDFs are processed on your device and are not part of that download request.
3. Data stored in your browser
Some features save small amounts of data in your browser's local storage so they work on your next visit: your theme, accent colour and language; favourite and recently used tools; usage streaks and badges; the sidebar layout; what you enter into the flashcard, habit tracker, to-do list and world clock tools; the last exchange rate the currency converter received for each currency pair; and your cookie choice. This is local storage, not cookies. It stays on your device, is never sent to us, and can be removed by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
4. Your cookie choice and what it changes
How you are asked depends on where you are:
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland you see Google's consent message instead of our banner. It is Google's certified consent management platform and uses the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. The choices you make there decide whether Google Analytics may use cookies and how Google may serve ads, and this site sends no consent signals of its own for you. To change them later, use Cookie Settings in the footer, which reopens Google's message.
- Everywhere else, and whenever Google's message can't load in your browser (for example because an ad blocker stops it), our own banner asks you to Accept all or Decline non-essential cookies, which on this site means analytics and advertising cookies. Cookie Settings in the footer reopens it. The rest of this section describes what our banner's choices do.
- Before you choose, and if you decline: the Google Analytics tag still loads, but Google's consent mode is set to "denied", so it does not set or read analytics cookies. It can still send Google a cookieless message that a page was viewed, which Google uses only for aggregate reporting. The Google AdSense script also loads, but it is paused: it requests no ads, so no ads are shown and Google's advertising cookies are not set through this site.
- If you accept: Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named
_gaand_ga_followed by an ID) to count visits and returning visitors, and AdSense starts requesting ads. Google and the ad networks it works with may then set and read advertising cookies, for exampleIDEandtest_cookieon doubleclick.net, as described in section 5. - If you change your mind: choosing Decline in Cookie Settings stops further ad requests and switches analytics back to cookieless mode straight away. Cookies that were already set stay in your browser until they expire or you delete them in your browser settings.
What Google Analytics collects. The Google Analytics 4 tag (measurement ID G-LVJRPT2L3G) reports the pages you view and their titles, the page that referred you, your device type, browser, operating system, screen size and language, your approximate location (country, region and city, which Google derives from your IP address; Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses), how long you stay and how far you scroll, clicks on links to other sites, and whether you accepted or declined cookies. Google processes this on our behalf, and we see it only as aggregate reports: which pages and tools are used, how people find the site, and whether pages work on different devices. We use those reports to decide what to fix or improve, and we don't combine them with any other data about you. With analytics consent, the _ga cookies also let Google count a returning visitor once rather than as someone new; without it, the tag sends only cookieless pings, as described above.
Separately, we run a first-party, cookieless pageview counter on our own server. It records only a page path and increments a daily total: no cookie, IP address, user agent or other identifier is read or stored, and there is no way to connect a count back to a visitor. Because it collects no personal data, it runs whatever cookie choice you make, in either Google's message or our banner.
5. Advertising
This site uses Google AdSense to show ads. When you have accepted cookies:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- AdSense lets other certified ad networks compete for the same ad space (it allows all of them unless a publisher blocks some), so ads may also come from those networks, and they may use their own cookies for personalised advertising.
You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of personalised advertising by the third-party vendors that take part in the industry opt-out programme at www.aboutads.info (in the EU and UK, also www.youronlinechoices.eu). Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. If you see our banner, declining cookies there also stops this site from requesting ads at all. If you see Google's consent message (EEA, UK, Switzerland), AdSense requests ads according to the choices you make in that message.
6. The contact form
Messages sent through the contact form are delivered by Formspree (formspree.io), which receives the name, email address, subject and message you enter and forwards them to us by email. We use them only to reply to you and to fix the problem you reported, and we don't add you to any mailing list.
7. Hosting and fonts
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request information, such as your IP address, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. The Inter typeface is served from this site along with the pages, so loading it sends no request to Google or any other font provider.
8. Third-party links
Our site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
