How to use this tool
Upload a PDF, pick PNG or JPG and click Render Pages. Each page appears as a thumbnail with its own download link, named page-001.png and so on; Download All puts every page in one .zip.
What size the images are
Pages are drawn at twice the PDF's own size. PDF pages are measured in points, 72 to the inch, so this is 144 pixels per inch: an A4 page becomes 1190 × 1683 pixels, a US Letter page 1224 × 1584. That is sharp on a screen and fine for a slide or a document preview, but below the 300 pixels per inch usually asked for in print, so for printing, use the PDF itself.
PNG or JPG: a measured example
For an A4 page of 11-point text, the PNG was 412 KB and the JPG 451 KB. JPG, often assumed to be the smaller choice, came out larger, and it also blurs the edges of the letters slightly. Text, tables and diagrams belong in PNG. JPG pays off only for pages that are mostly photographs, where its compression is designed to work.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can it open a PDF that is password-protected?
Only if it opens without a password. A PDF that merely restricts printing or copying renders normally. One that asks for a password to open is refused with a message saying so, because its pages can't be read without it.
Why do some pages take much longer than others?
Pages are drawn one after another, and a page with a large scanned image or thousands of vector shapes, such as a detailed map or chart, takes longer to draw than a page of text. The progress line shows which page is being drawn.
Can I download just one page instead of the whole set?
Yes — each rendered page has its own download button below its thumbnail, so you can grab a single page directly. The Download All button is there for when you want every page at once, bundled as a .zip.
