How to use this tool
Paste or type any text into the box and the score updates as you type — no button to click. The Reading Ease score runs 0–100, where higher means simpler, easier-to-read writing, while the Grade Level score estimates the U.S. school grade needed to understand it. Both scores are calculated from average sentence length and the average number of syllables per word, the same formulas used by Flesch-Kincaid readability analysis. Use it to check whether an essay, blog post, or email is written at an appropriate level for your intended audience.
